Booking a VACATION can be very confusing. But many travel websites give you the option ofbuying plane tickets and reserving your HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS as a package deal, so you’re set, right? Wrong. Unless you’re planning to stay in your room or wander aimlessly around the city of your choice, there are many more elements that needed to be planned ahead of time. This is where a travel agent comes into play.

While it may seem like an outdated concept with the self-sufficient nature of the Internet, there are many advantages to working one on one with a travel professional. How many times have you become so confused by the different options and strange language on a travel site that you just want to scream? It’s the job of a travel agent to know what all of that jargon means, and to relay it back to you in a way that makes sense.

Think of a Travel Agent as Your Travel Consultant

why use a travel agent

Of course, you’re always looking to get the most out of any deal. When you hear about celebrities getting exclusive access somewhere, don’t you want to know how to get that for yourself? Booking agents have connections with all of the right people, and know how to get you a room upgrade, reservations at the trendiest restaurants, and freebies of every variety.

One of the most aggravating things about planning a VACATION is figuring out what hotels, restaurants, and attractions are really the best. If you’re traveling to India, for example, you probably don’t know which HOTEL chains offer the best deals. There are sponsored listings that show up when you’re trying to buy online, and review sites often hire people to write them glowing recommendations. A travel agent doesn’t have an agenda (other than to get you good deals), and they’ll give you their honest opinion based on your budget, the time of year, etc.

But arguably the best thing about a booking agent is having someone else to handle the really difficult and stressful tasks. Having someone on your side when you’re dealing with rescheduling or canceling a trip or reservation can be a huge relief. They’re someone who can argue on your behalf when life takes you by surprise and forces you to adjust your plans. And who doesn’t want that?

Still not convinced? Travel agents even have recommendations for those exotic locations that don’t turn up a lot of results when you research them online. They’ll help you customize every day of your VACATION to your specifications, whether you want to stay by the pool at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico or hike to a haunted palace in India. Best of all, you know you’ll always be getting the best deals, and you’ll be able to rest easy knowing someone else has taken care of everything you’ll need, so you can enjoy your VACATION without stress.

Known as the birthplace of yoga, Rishikesh is one of India’s most popular and famous travel destinations. According to yogajournal[dot]com, legend claims that the great rishi, or Hindu sage, Raibhya practiced rigorous yoga along the Ganges in Rishikesh.  As a reward for his dedication, the god Vishnu appeared to Raibhya. Since that time, Rishikesh has become one of India’s holiest towns with multitudes of pilgrims visiting its ashrams every year. It’s also become known as the yoga capital of the world. Whether or not you are a yoga enthusiast, Rishikesh has something for everyone.
